A Greensite design charrette presentation
Recently a slew of green building professionals assembled at the San Diego Gas and Electric Energy innovation center to participate in a presentation that had two focus points; collaborative design with industry professionals and the viability of a Net positive greensite.
Using a silent design charrette as a brainstorming function, people were quick to put some wild designs down on their groups greensite outline. After the first design session worksheets were passed out to examine the energy, economics, water, waste, agriculture, aesthetics and programming elements of the site, opening up the discussion of net positive; is it possible? What’s needed to make this area a regenerative asset?
The results are still being processed but the overwhelming feeling in the room was one of intrigue and excitement!
Hopefully, we’ll be able to take this show on the road and get design, construction and energy ideas from everyone who is interested, but until we can, we’ll just have to settle on ideas via email and the phone.
